St Paul’s Manly Mothers’ Union AGM

Tuesday 27 October, the MU AGM was held at St Peter’s. Ailsa (President), Kay (Secretary) and Bev (Vice President) have retained their positions. Many thanks to Robyn as she steps down from the Treasurer position and Isobel takes on this role. The below summary of the Annual Report for the St Paul’s Manly Mothers’ Union Branch, which includes members from Wynnum Parish, highlights the successful year that 2026 has been. The Financial Report was also tabled.

MU enjoyed another rewarding year of fellowship, faith, service and community involvement. With 24 members, the branch continued to provide opportunities for friendship, spiritual growth and meaningful contributions to the wider community.

Highlights of the year included the Biggest Morning Tea, a Road Safety Workshop presented by the Queensland Police Service, a fun-fi lled Pimms and Hymns morning, and a very successful collection of donations for Hope in a Suitcase, which exceeded our target of 150 items. Members also participated in numerous diocesan, deanery and Mothers’ Union events, strengthening connections and sharing experiences with other branches.

Looking towards 2027, the branch will embrace the Provincial Conference theme “Visible, Articulate, Relevant.” This encourages us to increase our presence within our parishes and communities, confi dently communicate the purpose and mission of Mothers’ Union, and explore meaningful ways to respond to the changing needs of families and communities while remaining faithful to our Christian values.

Sincere appreciation was extended to Fr Sam for his spiritual leadership, to Bev for providing music, to the executive team for their ongoing support, and to all members who contribute their time, talents, friendship and prayers.

As we reflect on a successful year, we give thanks for the dedication and commitment of our members and look forward to 2027 with faith, enthusiasm and a shared determination to ensure Mothers’ Union continues to be visible, articulate and relevant in the lives of those we serve.
